Maltese Parliament House

The Parliament House, located in Malta’s capital city Valletta, is the official meeting place of the Parliament of Malta. Built between 2011-2015 to designs by notable Italian architect Renzo Piano, this project is one which is significant not only in the history of AX Construction, but for all of Malta and Gozo.

AX Construction was responsible for the construction of the superstructure works of the New Parliament Buildings. The project started in 2011 and was completed in a period of 7 months. The structure was a mix of structural steel elements and a robust concrete design. AX Construction was part of a Joint Venture, however apart from being the main concrete contractor on the New Parliament Office Building, AX Construction was also responsible for the JV Project Management. This project proved very challenging due to the logistical issues being in the heart of Valletta, a very challenging design with minimal tolerances, and a race against time.
